Food Innovation and Resource Centre (FIRC)

Discover cutting edge innovation in food food production with test beding and commercialization solutions.
Food Innovation Synopsis of FIRC: Food Innovation and Resource Centre (FIRC) was launched in 2007 as a joint initiative between Enterprise Singapore and Singapore Polytechnic. As the Centre of Innovation (COI) dedicated to food science and technology applications in Singapore, FIRC aims to be a one-stop solution hub to support food enterprises throughout their innovation journey to grow and sustain their businesses.

Synopsis of tour: Working closely with food enterprises, we co-develop food concepts and actual prototypes that are ready for commercialisation using FIRC dedicated and well-equipped food facilities which include pilot plant, packaging studio, test kitchen, laboratories and sensory suite. Come and see how some of the iconic Singapore brands like Irvins Salted Egg is transformed from the collaboration with FIRC!

Foodplant

Discover cutting edge innovation in food food production with test beding and commercialization solutions.
Food Innovation FoodPlant is Singapore’s first shared facility for small-batch food production to support innovation in the food manufacturing industry. Jointly launched by SIT, ESG, and JTC, FoodPlant provides food companies access to industry expertise, specialised equipment, as well as a suite of training courses to enhance the capabilities of food tech professionals.

Visitors will tour the facility of our production rooms and food processing equipment such as spray dryer, extruder, retort machine as well as advanced equipment, Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) and understand the capability of each room and how these different equipment help food companies to accelerate the innovation and commercialisation.

Learn innovative solutions in driving Urban food security and colaboration in urban smart agriculture
Urban / Smart Farming We are a total solution provider for indoor urban farms using proven and patented Dutch horticulture technologies. City Sprouts

Learn innovative solutions in driving Urban food security and colaboration in urban smart agriculture
Urban / Smart Farming City Sprouts is a raiSE-accredited social enterprise built on the philosophy of urban rejuvenation and social empowerment. Our vision is to inspire communities through sprouting green spaces and programs. Through our community as a service model and creative repurposing of spaces, we hope to deliver impact-driven programs to underserved communities. Our farm tour usually covers City Sprouts’ vision and founding story, our business model and ecosystem development, the different aspects of the farm e.g. allotment gardens, high tech farms (mushroom and container farm), other social and outreach efforts. 27 Oct, 3.00pm 20

We prioritise our role in transforming lives one person, one farm, and one community at a time.

This mission is supported and scaled by six Blue Aqua brands and a Centre of Excellence for the shrimp industry.

Aquaculture Innovation Centre

Discover solutions in high yield and secure aquaculture in contolled enviroments
Aquaculture AIC strives to support and develop the SMEs in the aquaculture industry with the aim of enhancing farming productivity through the following:

Facilitate new growth areas by regularly scanning the environment; identifying and developing emerging technologies or other areas of growth that are important for capability building to support sustainable development and growth of the aquaculture industry.

Drive farm productivity and product quality by providing product evaluation or testing services, applied research and innovative technology development including precision technologies that could help drive sustainable and intensive aquaculture.

Support safety, environmental sustainability and manpower productivity by educating and training manpower in aquaculture standards and best practices for better farm operation, biosecurity, environmental sustainability and workplace safety. Raise resource efficiency and sustainability for applied research and services through cooperation, co-sharing of existing resources, space and pooled expertise from institutes of higher learning, agencies and research institutes.
